FAA Flight Physicals

    Class I
  • Who: Commercial aviators who fly passengers. It is also called an Airline Transport Pilot certificate
  • When to Renew:
    • under 40 years of age, every 12 months.
    • 40 or over, every 6 months.
  • What to Expect:
    • full history and physical
    • urine test
    • eye test
    • EKG (electrocardiogram)
    Class II
  • Who: Commercial aviators, aviation navigators, flight controllers, and flight engineers
  • When to Renew: Usually every 12 months.
  • What to Expect:
    • full history and physical
    • urine test
    • eye test
    Class III
  • Who: Private and recreational pilots, student pilots, and flight instructors.
  • When to Renew:
    • under 40 years of age, after 60 calendar months.
    • 40 years of age or over, after 24 calendar months.
  • What to Expect:
    • full history and physical
    • urine test
    • eye test
