Dianne L. Higgins MD MPH

Dr. Higgins has been continually board certified since 1987, and has been an FAA designated Aviation Medical Examiner since 1998.

She completed medical school at the University of Texas, San Antonio and residency at Stanford University in Family Medicine. With a love of both the practice and teaching of medicine, Dr. Higgins was an associate professor at Stanford University Medical School and at the University of Nevada, Reno and has been in private practice for over 30 years. 

Patients greatly appreciate her combination of diagnostic acumen and straightforward language. The office at Mill Street offers a broad spectrum of services, in addition to primary care. 

On her practice philosophy, Dr. Higgins says that "to understand a patient takes time and thoughtfulness. I ensure my patients never feel rushed in my office. " Dr. Higgins and her husband have twin daughters and a son. Their daughter Grace is an officer in the US Air Force while daughter Sally has just started medical school. Her son Benjamin is a student at UNR and an avid trumpet player!

Lana Boes, Office Lab Assistant, AEMT, and Future RN

Prior to coming on board as Dr. Higgins right-hand gal, Lana Boes spent 2 years as an Advanced EMT for REMSA in the Washoe County area. She is attending Truckee Meadows Community College, where she has plans to further her career as a Registered Nurse.

Laura Brown, RN - Retired 2019

Laura Brown has been a nurse for over 20 years, and has studied and practiced nursing in New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Nevada. After completing nursing studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, Laura began began her career as a nurse for St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. We are fortunate to have her expert care at Mill Street Medical. 

Laura and her husband have two sons and a daughter. Her son Nicolas is training to be a firefighter, while her son Kevin attends the University of Washington. Her daughter Sierra recently moved with her husband and new baby to the East Coast.
