New Era Drug Testing

Together, ensuring a better drug testing experience through technology

To improve the quality of the HIMS random drug testing process, Dr. Higgins has reached out to the New Era Drug Testing company to handle all random urine and random blood tests. New Era has much to offer in terms of efficiency, technology, and simplicity.

New Era will soon be the main point of contact for all HIMS drug testing related concerns for Mill Street Medical. We kindly ask that all pilots in our HIMS program register with this company and continue their regular random drug testing. The office will not be calling pilots for random testing anymore after December 2021.

This means that New Era will be solely responsible for:

  • contacting the pilot for testing
  • ensuring a valid lab order is ready when testing is required
  • arranging for alternate testing locations for any reason
  • handling the blackout dates for the pilot (when he or she knows when in advance they will absolutely not be available to test)
  • keeping a record of test results

For the remainder of December, Brandon will be available for questions while all HIMS pilots transition to this new process.

As questions are asked and answered, this page will be developed into an FAQ to provide general answers for HIMS pilots. Please check back over the course of December to see if any of your questions can be answered here first. If not, please send Brandon a message.

A link to the sign up page will be made available here in the next couple days. Please check back soon.

Can I go to any lab?

Yes, you can go to any lab, but extra paperwork will be required. We encourage all HIMS pilots to use one of the many labs available in New Era's network; there's more than 10,000.

Can I use my insurance to cover the labs?

Again, yes, you can. But, you will need to arrange that with your insurance company. Many insurance companies have a process for covered individuals to submit claims by themselves. New Era provides the invoice and receipt you will need.
